Alloy 26 is proud to announce the first class of companies accepted into their fellowship program. Alloy 26’s fellowship program awards unique companies headquartered in Pittsburgh a free 6-months stay that includes a dedicated desk for each employee and all of the resources that come with a membership at Alloy 26. Unlike similar incubator programs, there are zero equity fees involved, and no obligation to rent an office or desk after the program ends. This no-strings-attached approach grants companies the opportunity to focus on growing their business with less of a financial burden for the 6-month period.
“Every single application for the program is reviewed by a panel, focusing on these fundamental elements: Concept and scope of the idea, team structure and skill set, plan of action, involvement in outside community organizations, and lastly diversity of companies/organizations,” said Mike Woycheck, Alloy 26’s Operations Director.
Through this program, Alloy 26 is investing at least $50,000 annually into Pittsburgh’s entrepreneurial program by offering resources free of charge. The inaugural round of companies are as follows:

City of Play, a social-benefit company, designs creative interactions and builds real-world games. City of Play creates new ways for people to interact with one another and with their workplace or neighborhood. Our work helps people understand new concepts, practice new skills, and experience the joy of stronger relationships with the people in their lives. City of Play uses revenue from its professional services to produce free and low-cost games for the public throughout the city.
Mix Salads is a specialty food subscription service, delivering nutritious meals to offices and individuals. Meals are nutrient-dense and created with ingredients from local farms.

iBoard is a mobile web application is an eco-friendly replacement for community notice boards. Saving paper, users can post and manage notices and events on the mobile application which will then show up on smart TV’s.
iBoard was created to give communities better tools for information sharing.
CHARTAE is a non-profit organization started by Northside resident, Corey Carrington. CHARTAE stands for Community Healing and Reconciliation through Artistic Expression. The goal of the organization is to provide an outlet for individuals & communities to use artistic expression as a tool for healing and reconciliation. This will be accomplished through a variety of classes, curriculum, workshops, and seminars tailored to different communities and populations in need of healing.
The fellowship program is biannual and applications for the next cycle will open in Fall 2016.
