• How to #Thrive and #Survive Thrival Festival 2016

Today’s the day! Thrival Innovation + Music Festival is in the building. We’re here to keep you posted on the amazing innovation programming happening this week, right here in Alloy 26. And did we mention all afternoon seminars are free? We’ve got the rundown on all things happening today through Thursday and some tips on how to #Thrive and #Survive the festival to get the most out of the programming and enhance your overall experience.

Step 1: Start Up Coffee (Repeat as needed)
Two words: FREE COFFEE. We have the hookup from La Prima Espresso, a Pittsburgh-based coffee company that has shops throughout the city – most notably in Nova Place. We’ll help you start up your day and get your creative juices flowing so you can power through the programming and make it to the after party.

Step 2: Get the Thrival App
Open Arc is a member of the Alloy 26 fam, specializing in custom software development, technical staffing, and IT consulting services. They, with the help of Xamarin, powered the Thrival app, which will help users stay connected to what’s going on this week. The app lists the innovation schedules, music lineup (because we bet you can’t get the concert off your mind either), and general information about the festival. It even has a feature to check the social media feed, so you can tweet, retweet, favorite, etc. It will help you stay organized as the week goes on.

Step 3: Check out the lineup
Today’s free innovation talks ranged from getting smart about smartphones, to radio resurgence and the rise of podcasts, to creative off-Broadway stars coming to the weekend’s music festival. Not to mention, the two ticketed events featuring the fight to prevent sexual violence against women, and a keynote with Dr. Bennet Omalu of Concussion fame will be inspirational. There’s something for every interest at Thrival so check the lineup and go forward!

    Step 4: Ask questions
The presenters are here to inform, they’re here to teach, they’re here to foster a one-of-a-kind festival experience. And, they love answering your questions. Most seminars had Q&A sessions to cap off the talk, and you can continue the conversations on social media. Tweet it. Like it. Engage!

    Step 5: Do it again
Tomorrow is a new day and guess what? It’s day 2 of Thrival with brand new speakers, exhibits, and activities. Here’s a rundown of Wednesday’s programming. Don’t worry if you’re too excited to sleep – we’ll have start up coffee hot and ready for you when you get back.
