• 2017 Thrival Festival

Rewind to September 2016. Nova Place as we see it today was unrecognizable – the Plaza lacked green space, and the Concourse was still a work in progress. But, Alloy 26 was open and ready to be seen. With our new event space ready for public use, the Faros Properties team worked closely with the Ascender Team (formerly Thrill Mill) to partner together in Thrival Festival 2016. Not only were Nova Place and Alloy 26 showcased for the Innovation portion of the festival, but also, hundreds of new faces came to the North Side to participate in a great festival.

This year Thrival is on its fifth year, and it will take place in multiple Pittsburgh locations. For those new to this festival, Thrival Innovation+ Music festival is an annual multi-day event that focuses on bringing together innovative ideas and technology, followed by a two-day outdoor musical festival.

Thrival’s first festival took place in 2013 and had only 2,000 attendees. The festival consisted of innovation talks and entrepreneur pitches and was concluded with music performances by artists. The festival immediately grew in 2014 to 7,000 attendees and continued to grow over the last three years. In 2016, Thrival had 16,000 attendees. The festival featured hit artists like Chainsmokers and CHVRCHES and welcomed speakers from across the nation that included best-selling authors, doctors, and Pulitzer Prize winners.

This year’s festival is taking place on September 27-30. It will start with a number of different events that will include multiple speaking panels for each one. Each event will discuss the processes and consequences of the intersection between humans and technology.  Speakers will include a variety of CEOs, founders, directors, and much more. There will be 60 speakers at this event that will each bring something unique to the table. Some of the speakers include:
