• How Your Business Can Give Back During the Holidays

During the holiday season, its easy to get wrapped up in the fun of shopping, the anticipation of a few days off, and the excitement of office holiday parties. But, if you’re looking for a way to get more out of the holiday season, here are some ways for your business to give back.
    Plan a Coat Drive

As temperatures drop, its not uncommon for families to not be able to afford a warm coat to keep warm. Because a winter coat can combat issues that come with a drop in body temperature—think confusion, reduced heart rate—the donation of a winter coat can make a world of difference. Encourage employees to donate unused coats, hats, and gloves, and pair with a local organization to distribute them to families in need. This is a surefire, easy, and cost-effective way to give back and make an impact on your local community. Now through December 13th, Nova Place is hosting a Coat Drive to benefit the students and their families at Perry High School. They are asking for adult-sized jackets, scarves, hats, and gloves. You can drop off these items in Alloy 26’s lobby. As an added bonus, you’ll receive extra raffle tickets to use at Wednesday’s tenant holiday party from 11am-1pm.
    Host a Toy Drive

Similar to winter coats, Christmas presents for children are not always a guarantee for every family. Whether you donate the collection to a local church, or an organization like Toys for Tots, this is another easy way for employees to give back to the community. Suggest donations of up to $30, along with a list of the most popular toys for the season, and simply collect donations leading up to the week or two before Christmas. Though not a spend-free option, the gift of giving is sure to be a priceless one.
    Hold a Holiday Raffle

A great way to incentivize employees to give wile giving them a gift in return, raffles are a fun and cost effective way to give back. Whether you choose to sponsor a family with the proceeds, or donate to a local organization, this method of giving is an easy solution. Pick a popular raffle item like a TV, popular tech product, or a basket of gift cards, and place raffle tickets at $5 each. If you’re feeling extra generous, offer to match whatever the proceeds from your employees’ ticket purchases are, and double your give-back power!
The holidays are the season for giving, and bringing your employees together to give back is an effective way to team build and work towards a common goal. Build company morale and give back this season with these simple gifts of service.
